Brown marmorated stink bugs or stink bugs are regularly found in our area. The invasive pest is native to Asia although it has been in the United States since 1996. The first stink bugs in the United States were discovered in Allentown, Pennsylvania. They’re called stink bugs because they release a hideous odor from the small glands near their thorax. Today, they’re found in most states. The stink bugs in our area can grow up to three-quarters of an inch. They’re either gray or brown and come in many shades. They’re easy to spot because their back is shaped like a triangular plate. They also have antennas with white stripes.
Why Do You Have Stink Bugs?
It is easy to find out why stink bugs are living in your home. These pests are overwintering pests. Therefore, they’re going to find a way to enter your home in late fall. They cannot tolerate cold temperatures, so they don’t want to get stuck outside. They’re going to remain hidden in your home until the temperatures increase. Once this happens, the stink bugs in your home will return outside. When they’re outside, they’re consuming plants, fruits, and vegetables.

Therefore, you should grab your vacuum and try to suck them up. Once you’ve done that, make sure they do not escape your vacuum and return to your home. Place the contents of the vacuum into a plastic bag and zip it. Then, they won’t be able to escape. Throw the bag away outside somewhere.
